"I have had, counting this time, 2 teeth removed that 1 was cracked all the way down the tooth to root end, removed by Dr. Bird (90's)and #2 removed by Dr Johnson. (2024) I was sedated both times and when I came out of it was told all went well and to go with instructions till follow up and did this. 90's tooth was a breeze and no problems at all! Second tooth all was well( Broke tooth under Crown) with it too. Both Dr. and there are great at what they do and after listening to others people used this was a no brainer! Tech's Jessica & Ashley were real good at helping with assisting both Dr.s I had a few bone chips come through on first one ( This is normal especially if tooth is damaged bad. 2nd tooth will take longer as I am an old guy now and we heal slower. My advice is Dr. Jay A. Johnson. Professional , explains everything in detail to assure you of what will take place and the sedation was great for if you want or as with me he stated I needed to be and I totally agreed. Came out of sedation quickly and was on my way home to recuperate. Not only are they great at Oral Surgery but pricing was nearly 1/2 of what most people were charging huge $$$ for sedation. So if you need wisdom teeth or facial surgery Dr. Johnson is the man to see!"
"1st visit for consult and it was very nice! From the admins, assistants and the doctor, everyone treated you professionally and made you feel very comfortable. The Doctor explained everything that he would do and the possible outcomes. Didn't just try and say you needed something when you weren't a candidate for it. Loved the honesty and what to expect.Update 1/17/24:Had Oral surgery yesterday on my front teeth and it was not as bad as I thought it was going to be, although I got the happy sauce, so I wasn't that aware of everything, but nonetheless, it was as good as it was going to be.In the end, I highly recommend Bird and Johnson Oral Surgery!Update 1/25/24:One week follow up after surgery went well. Surprised that they removed the stitches one week later. All good for now and let the healing begin!!"

"I reached out to Dr. Bird when one of my teeth became wiggly and I noticed a small bubble on the gum above it. I attempted to heal it by natural means with varying degrees of success. At about the 6 month mark though, I figured it was time to have it checked out. I called Dr. Bird because I didn’t have a general dentist, and he had performed extractions for myself and my husband a couple years prior. Though Dr. Bird doesn’t do the x-rays or evaluation in this scenario, he took a quick look and referred me to the general dentist near his office. Thankfully this new general dentist was kind and compassionate (as I have experienced dental trauma in the past and am beyond picky when it comes to going to a new dentist—you can read more about that on my blog). The general dentist confirmed Dr. Bird’s suspicion about the tooth and I will be able to now go back to Dr. Bird for an extraction and implant."

"I’ve been afraid of dentistry since having a sadist for a pediatric dentist as a child (I’m aware Bird and Johnson are oral surgeons). Having seen both Dr Bird and Dr Johnson I no longer dread going for dental work. Both are efficient and are very conscious of your pain. There is something about tooth and facial pain that is very exquisite, of which these surgeons are very aware. I had a large tooth shard (spicule) from a prior extraction that was consuming me and would awaken me out of a dead sleep (imagine a thorn penetrating deep in your gums that you can’t remove). They were able to fit me in the next day at no charge for removing the spicule, which I would have gladly paid for as my pain was immediately relieved. Both surgeons follow up their work which is more than I can say for a lot of dentists as I spent 6400$ on a single tooth that started with a root canal only to lose that tooth to extraction within a year. If only I had gone here first. I also find their pricing to be lower than many dentists despite the fact that they are oral surgeons."

"Dr. Bird is a phenomenal dental surgeon. I was referred to him years ago by my primary (now retired) dentist, Dr. Lowe for some extractions. I have had the unfortunate genetics of bad teeth, so I’ve seen Dr. Bird probably at least a half dozen times. Each time he was very kind and very informative of exactly how the procedure would work. He removed my wisdom teeth as well... and while painful after (like many people!), he had a difficult and stubborn set to work with and still managed to do the best job. I always opted for the anesthetic (exact name is slipping my mind right now!) that made me unaware of the time passing/what was going on - hence no pain. I actually remember asking the dental assistant, “will he be in to do the (four) extractions soon? I think the anesthesia is wearing off.” To which she replied, “Oh, you’re all set. He already did the extractions a bit ago.” LOL.I’m sure I will see him again in the future because there is still unfinished dental work I need taken care of. Definitely wouldn’t want to go to anyone else now, and for anyone looking for a new dental surgeon, I give my highest recommendation to Dr. Bird and his staff."

After hours of taking ibuprofen and still in pain I'm thinking this has to be exposed nerves as several my teeth were aching or taking turns aching. My dentist felt that my wisdom tooth was the cause and gave me 3 referrals for my selection of an oral surgeon for tooth extraction. I did my google research and selected Bird and Johnson, oral surgery and I'm happy that I did. The front office gave me an appointment to see Dr Johnson that afternoon, upon arrival the office staff was very professional and kind, I was surprised that I saw the doctor almost immediately and didn't have to sit in the waiting room for ever, I was impressed and amazed by Dr Johnson! He gave me a lot of time and actually listened to me as I described my symptoms and quizzed me for more info, and then he did a mouth exam that was quick and painless. After our consultation Dr. Johnson felt that my teeth were not causing my issues but it was most likely a nerve problem and that I should wait 2 weeks for an improvement. Wait and see where it goes - No surgery scheduled. I feel very fortunate and that I made a good decision in selecting Birds and Johnson. A Good doctor who actually listens and acts in your best interest!!!"

"So impressed! My husband woke up with swelling and pain on his left side today. Immediately thought it was a tooth causing it. Not only did they see him today, but with thorough exam found it was his salivary gland, not tooth related, and prescribed him an antibiotic which they could've just sent him away and not helped him, but instead they did help him and gave instructions on remedy and if it does occur again he would need an ENT Dr at that point. Dr. Johnson saved him from having to go to urgent care because it wasn't his teeth to sit and wait while in pain for same outcome. The doctors and staff were all so great. Above and beyond caring! My husband has bad dental anxiety, but he said it was the first time he felt comfortable in a dental chair. Thanks to Drs. Bird and Johnson's office my husband will be on the mend and we know exactly what to do if this happens again. We just moved to Melbourne and are very glad to find them. "I am a nurse, a mother of four and have had a lot of experience in the dentist chair (my own personal he**) so when you read this review know that its author knows a lot about the priceless value of patient satisfaction, painless procedures and good rapport with your doctor and their staff! The staff at this office is AMAZING! They are friendly and kind and helpful and I love that they send their patients off with a flower to brighten their (or their spouses) day! My 7 year old son needed to have an abscesses tooth pulled. Dr Bird was very easy to talk to, offered us many different options to accommodate what my son might need to get him though the procedure comfortably and non-traumatically and he took the time to make a personal connection with me and my kiddo. On the day of the procedure we were taken right back at our scheduled appointment time. My son decided that he only wanted to be numbed up (he changed his mind about needing the “happy gas”) and I was able to stay in the room until right before they were ready to pull the tooth. I can tell you he did not even flinch when Dr Bird numbed his mouth with the needle. For me this is a true testament of someone who is not only gifted but also compassionate and proficient in their work! I stepped out of the room and he was finished within 10 minutes! As I was waking out I could hear Dr Bird and his assistant talking to him about school and Christmas, completely taking his mind off what was at hand. My little guy told me on the way home that he was nervous when he saw the “tool” but that it didn’t hurt at all (he unfortunately had a very traumatic experience with a previous oral surgeon). I know every case is different but he has had no swelling, very minimal tenderness and the tooth they pulled had a decent root still on it. From the bottom of this mamas heart I want to thank and praise Dr Bird and his staff for all they have done physically and emotionally for our family!"

Dr Bird was very easy to talk to, offered us many different options to accommodate what my son might need to get him though the procedure comfortably and non-traumatically and he took the time to make a personal connection with me and my kiddo. On the day of the procedure we were taken right back at our scheduled appointment time. My son decided that he only wanted to be numbed up (he changed his mind about needing the “happy gas”) and I was able to stay in the room until right before they were ready to pull the tooth. I can tell you he did not even flinch when Dr Bird numbed his mouth with the needle. For me this is a true testament of someone who is not only gifted but also compassionate and proficient in their work! I stepped out of the room and he was finished within 10 minutes! As I was waking out I could hear Dr Bird and his assistant talking to him about school and Christmas, completely taking his mind off what was at hand. My little guy told me on the way home that he was nervous when he saw the “tool” but that it didn’t hurt at all (he unfortunately had a very traumatic experience with a previous oral surgeon). I know every case is different but he has had no swelling, very minimal tenderness and the tooth they pulled had a decent root still on it. From the bottom of this mamas heart I want to thank and praise Dr Bird and his staff for all they have done physically and emotionally for our family!"

"I write this on the day after my extraction. I broke a front lower tooth and was referred to Dr. Bird by my regular dentist. I had my tooth stump extracted after Dr. Bird numbed the root and the surrounding areas. My tooth was extracted painlessly, and I mean painlessly. I felt some pressure but no real discomfort. My gum was stitched, and I was prescribed pain killers and given gauze for my mouth. I have no after effects and did not need pain killers. Also the little bleeding I had stopped after a couple of hours. I return to the office to have the 2 or 3 stitches removed in 6 days. I highly recommend Dr. Bird."
